The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been conducting searches for the second day at the residence of Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi and his close associates in Belagavi, focusing on alleged illegal foreign investment. The operation continued late into the night as the investigation appears to intensify. The searches included Jarkiholi’s residence in Gokak, where his wife and daughter, MP Priyanka Jarkiholi, were present. 

The ED also visited the homes of Jarkiholi’s family member Y Manjunath in Belagavi and Girish Sonawalkar, a close associate of the minister. Additionally, the residence of Jarkiholi’s private secretary, Malagouda Patil, was searched. Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed the raids as "politically motivated," criticising the BJP for alleged misuse of agencies. He said, “The ED raids against him are not something we are unaware of. 

ED raids have been conducted in the past as well. He is a senior minister and involved in business and social activities.” Opposition leader Priyank Kharge also claimed the raids are politically motivated, stating that 97 per cent of the 196 raids over six years targeted opposition figures, describing the agencies as “parrots” under central control.
